Redundant Blinking of Eyes


Eyes blink normally and open, this is vital to remove the dirt that mounts up on the surface of the eye ball. There are tear glands which help to generate the tears in the eyes and this helps cleaning of the eyes through water. Blinking of eyes 15- 16 times per minute is normal but when it gets a hike then this is a problem. Redundant blinking of even one eye can cause problem to another. This problem is often found in all ages of people but it is more in the toddlers and children.

Here are some causes of the excessive blinking of eyes:

Dry eyes are the most common cause for this. This problem occurs when tear glands are unable to produce tears. Due to the lack of this tear eyes can be a problem and make the person blink the whole day for several times. This is found common in children.

If your eyes are into a contact of the foreign object and anything has stuck up in eye lid than also you will face excessive blinking. The object which gets stuck creates the irritation of eyes through which you may face problems.

Eyelid spasms are also one of the causes associated to this. The uncontrolled movement of muscles which last for a minute is called spasms. This is a common eye problem which can give a rise to this. 

In children they have sometimes eyesight problem due to which they get blurred vision and they blink a lot because of this. This takes place during the birth.

If you are suffering from any brain disorders then you may have this problem. The deviation of the brain diseases gives a negative impact on the blinking rate of eyes.

If you are under stress and are nervous then you will also face this situation.  Feeling of anxiety will give a rise for excessive blinking.

Though this is a problem it can also be treated. Constant blinking of eye is bothersome and some it attracts the stranger and also can be anger for the opposite sex. So it advisable to get it cured.
